Whhhaaattt – Real Neat Blog Award

real-neat-blog-award-logo

Off Her Mocha wrote a very enticing blog post after her nomination for a Real Neat Blog Award and if you’d fancy a read I’ma link that bad bittie here. Thank you so much for nominating me to do this next! I love sharing more about myself and hope anyone that stops by to read this enjoys my answers to learn a lil’ more about ya girl KS Loves…

THE RULES:
Put the award logo on your blog.
Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog etc.)

Out of all of your blog posts, which has been your favourite to produce?

You know what, I gotta say all of my Wanderlust Wednesday and Empties products posts. I flippin’ loooove reviewing food and trying out new restaurants on a regular occurrence. I also love writing empties reviews because who doesn’t love a solid review of something someone has completely used up and whether or not they’ll purchase it again?! Those are my holy grail posts.

What is your idea of a successful blog?

Engaging. I want to be able to excite others and entice people to have conversations over anything and everything.

What are your 3 most-played songs at the moment?

Shape of You and What Do I Know? by Ed Sheeran
Of All Things (ft. Too $hort) by G-Eazy

If you could switch lives with anyone for a day who would it be and why?

I have this really bizarre dream of wanting to experience Whoville IRL – and yes I know that’s impossible but I want to. So I guess Cindy Lou Hoo.

What were your New Years resolutions and have you stuck to them?

I have to be honest here I never really make New Years resolutions. If I set my mind to something at any point of the year, I do my best to follow through!

What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Don’t ignore your gut feelings and your instincts. Have an itch to start something new? Do it! Feeling a bit of luck and inspiration? Go for it. Worried somebody or something is dragging you down? Ditch it.

What impact has having a blog had on you and your life?

Meeting sOoOoOo many new people from all over the world! I love it and feed off of the energy. Gives me so much courage and motivation to try new things and not be afraid of failure.

I’m going to nominate 3 people for this:

  1. Lulu over at Voudouri’s Views
  2. Katy from Something Different
  3. Sakshi at The NChanting whispers

YOUR QUESTIONS, LADIES:

  1. What’s your biggest blogging milestone to date and why is it so important to you?
  2. Dinner or dessert // favorite food from that answer?
  3. What is something you’d like all of your followers to know about you?
  4. What is your next goal for your blog?
  5. What is an activity you could spend hours doing?
  6. If I’m traveling for a week I cannot live without these three items: _______________
  7. Since starting a blog, have you stepped outside your comfort zone with a specific post/picture/etc. and how did that feel?

Instructions:

QUOTE NUMBER THREE:

1st sentence – keep doing you and working towards your end goal without getting discouraged along the way. Setbacks are inevitable, but you will come out on top (see first quote post here).

2nd sentence – you are doing right by doing what it is you want to be working on. Don’t give that up for anyone and have faith in the efforts you are putting towards it.

3rd sentence – stay focused so that you can live out your dream. Do not back down for anyone or anything.

Lastly, never (ever) give up. Remember why you started.

For my last nominations, I challenge the following gals to keep the ball rolling:
1. Katie Lauren
2. Amanda on Fiction
3. Lindsey over at Cozy Stylist

Three Quotes in Three Days || Day 2

Gonna make sure I throw a shout-out everyday for the nomination from EllieLilyLouise over on her blog! Welcome back fam, to day TWO of the three day quote challenge.

Instructions:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Post a quote for three consecutive days (1 quote for each day).
  • Share why this quote appeals so much to you.
  • Nominate 3 different bloggers for each day.

QUOTE NUMBER TWO:

quote2.png

Sticking with the theme of “get outside your comfort zone,” this quote also has quality meaning to me and it should to you, too! You truly have to step outside your realm of coziness to get to any new milestone. What’s difficult is the actual push to get there. The act of subjecting yourself to scrutiny. It’s difficult, but can be so rewarding.

Have you been wanting to show your face on Instagram stories, or post a time-lapse video of a lil’ makeup tutorial on Instagram? ME TOO – and I have started doing it recently! Because I can’t help my blog grow if people don’t know the girl behind the blog posts.

My challenge to you is to create some attainable goals for the next few weeks. They don’t have to be stressful, but small things to get outside your comfort zone. Maybe you’ve been wanting to be more active on Twitter and are nervous what people will think of your thoughts.

Do it.

Or maybe you’ve been holding back a brand new idea at work.

Don’t.

If I can believe in myself then you can extend the same faithfulness to yourself!

The three bloggers I nominate to complete this challenge are:

  1. Sammy over at Seeking Sammy
  2. Aubree on her blog The Gold Ambition
  3. Rikki on her blog

See you tomorrow for quote #3!

Three Quotes in Three Days || Day 1

Thank you so VERY much for the nomination from EllieLilyLouise over on her blog! She gave some great motivation in the form of three separate quotes. The meaning behind a single sentence can be so powerful to everyone in their own way. Depending on the happenings in your life, there are different takeaways from the same words with which we can all find inspiration.

Instructions:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Post a quote for three consecutive days (1 quote for each day).
  • Share why this quote appeals so much to you.
  • Nominate 3 different bloggers for each day.

QUOTE NUMBER ONE:

quote1
photo borrowed from here

This 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 so 👏🏻 f*#king 👏🏻 important. And you know why?
Because YOU WILL PREVAIL.

Think about it, seriously. There are 1 of 2 reasons you could have a setback:

  1. You tried something new that is out of your comfort zone
Here’s why your comeback is stronger – regardless of a setback you’ve already done something better for yourself than you never did before. You stepped outside of your zone of comfort. You have already accomplished more than before. Pushing yourself to take a step further than you typically would already means you’re that much closer to the end goal. And you can’t get to that end goal without leaving your circle in the first place.
  2. You have a setback because you didn’t leave your comfort zone
Here’s where I tell you this is a sign to go for it. Do something for yourself that makes you scared but you know it could result in an end goal of yours. That is enough reasoning to try in the first place.

Do not give up on that end goal.

Today I nominate the following bloggers to take on this post:

  1. Monica over at Tidal Thoughts
  2. Jade from Beauty Basics Blog
  3. Paulina over at Paulina Loya

See you tomorrow for quote #2!

Magical Makeup Monday: March IPSY Review

“Depending on how you look at this bag, the glass if half full vs half empty.”

IMG_20170326_205140

Hey friends! This month’s bag had a decent variety of products inside. We have some makeup and some skincare, as well as a hair conditioning treatment! If you’re interested in learning what Ipsy is all about, I’ve linked their website here.

IMG_20170326_210008
Full size retails for $79.00.

I’m going to start with my favorite product, and this may come as no surprise: the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator. This is the most gentle exfoliant I have ever used. EVER. It actually comes out as a cream, but has the tiniest “gritty” feeling (for lack of better wording). The grainy-ness of this product is so gentle and it feels amazing when applied to the face. Once I rinsed this off, my skin felt squeaky clean and instantly softer as if I had moisturized at the same time!

I know the full-size is incredibly pricey, but I may be considering it should it prove its worth in the long run.

My second favorite product was the deep repair hair conditioning treatment by Marc Anthony. This treatment contains aloe, jasmine, and sea kelp to help detangle and strengthen your hair throughout a 3-7 minute time span. I’ve used this twice and haven’t necessarily noticed a huge improvement, but you can’t beat the scent. This leaves my hair smelling fresh and easy to run my brush through.

IMG_20170326_210021
A sample packet retails for $2.99.

Next on the list is the Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Vibin. I have mixed feelings about this product. It could just be the shade, but I’m not sure. The color isn’t my favorite, it’s a deep red with brownish hints to it. It seemed to apply just a tad streaky, and took a couple swipes to become opaque. I will say this: it doesn’t budge. You will need a certified liquid lip remover to get this off.
This retails for $20.00.

Next is the mPrincess pressed eyeshadow in the shade Chestnut. Gotta be honest here, I’m typically underwhelmed with this brand. Furthermore, I could carry on with Ipsy bags without this brand. I just don’t feel they offer anything better than their competition. I am never overly impressed or feel the urge to reach for their shadows. Personally, I feel that they lack pigment and blendability.
This retails for $15.45.

Lastly is the Beau Gachis Tapered Blending Brush. This brand is low-key and doesn’t disappoint! I have loved every brush I’ve received of theirs from Ipsy and will continue to use them. Since this one is a longer brush, it’s a little more “flimsy” so I have to work it a little for blending in the crease. Overall, solid brand with dependable brushes.

IMG_20170326_210039
This retails for $12.00.

So that’s this month’s Ipsy bag! Have you found anything worth purchasing later on? Did you receive any of the same products I did? Please share your thoughts in the comments below! I’m always interested to see what others thought/received.

Don’t forget to review and rate your Ipsy products as a way to earn points towards choosing a FREE BONUS item in your next bag!

The Blue Sky Tag! <3

Hi friends! I have been nominated to complete the Blue Sky Tag in the blogosphere world by Anne from Beauty by a Dutch Girl. Please don’t hesitate to comment on any of my answers if you have questions or something to say that relates! I’d love to hear what you all think of my responses.

Anne, thanks for the nomination! I’m excited to dive into these questions, and loved reading more about you on your post here. Thanks for sharing all of that info, including your addiction to sushi! Haha. xoxo.

HERE ARE THE “RULES”:

Thank the person who nominated you.
Answer the 11 questions.
Tag 11 people.
Give them 11 questions to answer.

What is your favorite makeup brand?
If I had to choose a favorite makeup brand that I had to purchase from for the rest of my life, I think I would choose Wet n Wild. They have a wide shade range of foundation, amazing liquid lipsticks that are $5, and a killer selection of gel lip liners for $2.99. I am very pleased with the Wet n Wild products I do have, and really appreciate an affordable drugstore brand.

Who is your favorite YouTuber?
I seriously don’t know that I could pick one! Top three: Jaclyn Hill, Casey Holmes, and Kathleen Lights. However, for different reasons. I die for Jaclyn’s makeup artistry skills and sassy attitude, Kathleen’s bloopers, and Casey’s drugstore tutorials.

Where do you really want to travel to?
I have recently been considering this myself! I have never been out of the United States. I know… and no, I don’t live under a rock, though it seems like it haha! First I would really like to travel west in the US. I would love to visit California, Arizona, and Colorado.

Which language(s) do you speak? English. I can read my fair share of Spanish, but it’s difficult for me to speak it.

What is your favorite thing to eat for dinner?
I eat the same exact thing every night throughout the week: pasta, chicken, and asparagus (or some other type of vegetable). I’m soooo basic, I know.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Anything with peanut butter! But I don’t like chocolate ice cream.

What is your favorite Social Media to use? Snapchat! Those filters, doe.

Why did you start blogging? (tell us in less than 50 words)
I really wanted to share my thoughts! More importantly, I wanted to find others with similar skin issues, favorite makeup products, and skincare routines that I might benefit from too. It’s really cool hearing opinions/reviews and incorporating that into my daily routine.

What is the last movie you saw? Get Out – and it was PHENOMENAL.

How much time do you spend on/with your blog in a day? (making blogposts, commenting/liking other blogs)
Probably a couple hours. I’ll pop on it here and there at work, and sometimes before bed to read posts and comment!

What is the worst fashion-mistake you’ve ever made?
In 8th grade I wore around this pink Coca-Cola shirt, tucked it into jeans, and wore a pink belt to match. Smh.

HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS:

Lipstick shades: nude or bold?
Favorite YouTuber and why.
What was your very first makeup blog post about?
Tea or coffee?
If you could quit your day job/schooling for blogging, would you?
Have you considered creating a YouTube channel, and why or why not?
Favorite skincare product.
Favorite thing to do on the weekend.
Favorite place to shop.
What was the last concert you attended?
Describe your blog in three words.

I NOMINATE:

Cat Flicks and Matte Lips
Jessica Riga
Blush off the Haters
Beauty Bae
Currently, Lately
Ang and Mae
Beauty and the Least
High Chic
Actually Anna
Beauty with Alice
Pensive Palindrome

I hope everyone enjoyed this to some extent! Like I said, please comment if you share any of my interests or have any questions. I love hearing from everyone. 🙂
