7 Hair Care Items Worth Your Coin

“Who doesn’t love a good hair care recommendation? Or seven?”

Today I’m writing alllllllll about HAIR-CARE-BABY. What’s good? We’ve got shampoo, conditioner, a deep conditioning mask, and hair oil. And then dry shampoo to eliminate your hair oils (lol). Good thing today is pay day because I’m about to unload a healthy recommendation of 7 good products for your hair care routine worth your money, honey.

Let’s start at the beginning of all hair care routines – shampoo and conditioner. These two were made for each other. The Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde shampoo ($18.00) and Forever Blonde conditioner ($19.00) are a match made in heaven. I’ve already emptied each of these products once, and repurchased, and I’m here for them.

These products are a step up from average hair care, without the unreasonable price tag. I believe they are WORTH the $$ and the value is spot on. Both products take great care of my blonde strands and don’t strip my hair of its natural oils – leaving it healthy and conditioned.

I’ve spoken once about these products in this post if you fancy further praise!

Next, to really up your hair care game, bathe your hair in the Briogeo Deep Conditioning hair mask ($36.00). This is worth. every. single. penny. I probably use this deep conditioning mask once weekly or at least every other week. I’ve had it for seven months and I might now just have emptied half of the tub. That is a butt ton of deep conditioning treatments for under $40. Worth it, worth it, worth it. I live and die by this stuff and will continue to repurchase it.

Sticking with the Briogeo theme (which I’m obsessed with), we are moving onto their Rosarco Milk Leave-In conditioning spray ($20.00). I will spritz this all over my hair, post-shower, focusing halfway down my strands and the ends. Then I comb through to distribute it. This leaves my hair silky soft and when I wake up the next morning it actually looks and feels a bit more repaired. It’s a miracle worker and I will again repurchase this one.

I reviewed these two products previously and one more from the Briogeo line, see those thoughts here!

Okay this next one is a hair oil that I just DIE for. It may be my favorite of everything in this post. The Marrakesh Oil ($22.99) in the original scent. OH. MY. LANTA. It’s so good. Smells amazing, performs amazing, I just cannot get enough and will buy endless bottles of this product. I use one pump in the palm of my hand and coat my hair from the middle of the strands to the end (same as the conditioning spray). I then leave my hair in a little low bun to soak up the goodness for 20-30 mins before bed where I let me hair out of the bun.

This is the ultimate product for me. If you take anything away from this post, let it be this oil. And also the hair mask.

NEXT UP – I wanted to throw this product in here because it’s good and does its job and also smells like a dream. The Chi Thermal Protecting spray ($6.50 for a small bottle) does its job but also acts like a hair perfume for me. It smells incredible and it adds heat protection to your hair before going in with a blow dryer, straight iron, or curling wand. Solid product and worth the money – which in my opinion isn’t expensive!

Lastly, and certainly not least, is yet another holy grail product. Did anyone really think we’d make it through this post without BATISTE DRY SHAMPOO holy hell this is a godsend. I can find the large size for $8.99 in TJ Maxx or Marshall’s so get in your car now! Dry shampoo has absolutely changed the game for me. It can turn fresh curls into a three-day look. It’s true that your hair needs trained to be less oily (and for me tbh that took like 6 months), but this will get you there. It soaks up oil, smells great, and is an absolute must for me in the years to come. O B S E S S E D.

So those are my hair favorites. Take ’em or leave ’em but I hope you enjoyed yourself and gathered some new fun recommendations. How many of y’all already use some of these?! Lmk below.

Brand Feature: Briogeo Hair Care

“I will 100% credit this Briogeo haul to Kathleen Lights.”

Okay, let’s get into a topic that is boujie hair care products. And what I mean by boujie is this… b$o$u$j$i$e$ lmao – I know you feel me. I purchased three items from the Briogeo hair care brand: the scalp revival micro-exfoliating shampoo ($42), don’t despair deep conditioning mask ($36), and their rosarco milk leave-in conditioning spray ($20).

I have been using these products probably once a week since Christmas (okay they were gifts, I didn’t buy them myself & I’m not ashamed to admit it, thx mama). So that’s a full three months usage on a pretty regular weekly basis, and I haven’t even used half of each product yet. So before we start to dissect the pricing, let’s take a moment to appreciate the quantity for the $$ because ya girl is not complaining in that department.

First up, the scalp revival micro-exfoliating shampoo which retails for $42.

Yes, you read that right. More than forty buck-a-roonies for this bad boy. I like this exfoliating shampoo, but I’m not in love with it. It is a very gentle exfoliant for your scalp when your head is feeling 1. weighed down with product and 2. a bit irritated (meaning itchy or flakey).

I’ve experienced both issues and to say it has helped me would be falsely selling this product. I like it, it smells good, and the jar is lasting me awhile. But will I repurchase? Nah.

Next up, don’t despair, repair! deep conditioning hair mask which will cost you $36.

Now this, this I love. And would gladly repurchase for the cost. I think the price of this conditioner is very fair, considering I am not even halfway through the jar after once weekly use for four months. And it 👏🏻 puts 👏🏻 in 👏🏻 WORK!

My hair is so silky smooth after using this product and a little goes a long way. Immediately after shampooing I will soak my hair in the product and tie it up in a bun for the remainder of my shower and then rinse. Afterwards I feel like I was just at the salon for a deep treatment.

The last product I tried from this brand is their reparative leave-in conditioning spray which you can buy for $20.

It seems a little steep for a leave-in conditioner, but I do quite enjoy this product. I think depending on your preference you could take it or leave it. Personally, I will consider repurchasing based on how long it’s lasted me and the silky texture it leaves my hair feeling. The two conditioning products from this line do what they say they will and I can appreciate that.

Overall, I have a lot of love for Briogeo products and will continue to purchase from their line. I think they contain great ingredients and for the most part, worth your hard-earned COIN.

Have you tried anything from this line? Do you plan on it? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Empties Segment: hair products

“Not to spoil this post, but I liked most of these products
so f*#! the wallet, am I right?”

Let’s jump right into this empties post. Because obviously, if you’ve read my intro above, you already know a lot of these were hits for me. This means we are coming a long way as far as products that actually work. Or, I am incredibly weak and give into the packaging and scents of them. Jk jk I’ve listed the five products below that I have finished and some refreshing opinions and feedback on them. I hope you enjoy and maybe find some new products that tickle your fancy.

  1. Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde conditionerretails for $19.00
This stuff is freaking amazing. I love it. It’s as far as I’ll go into “high end” hair care. Seeing as it is almost $20 does seem steep when you compare it to Pantene or TRESemme, but I cannot get away from this now that I have given it a shot. My hairdresser recommended this and the shampoo to me, and I have since repurchased both.I personally like that it feels a little more luxe on my color-treated hair, but without an incredibly high price tag. And gurl, it’ll last you! I purchased my first bottle of conditioner last June and I’m just now writing about it running out… granted, I like to incorporate conditioning masks/treatments so I am not using this constantly but, like, still. This bitty will last you awhile.
Would I repurchase? Again and again.
  2. Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde shampooretails for $18.00
I have all of the same feelings for this shampoo as I do for the conditioner. Love the set, love them together. It’s a win/win for me. The shampoo surprisingly lasted the same amount of time as the conditioner, so I vouch that this is well worth your hard-earned DOLLAS HONEY.
    Would I repurchase? Yes ma’am.
  3. Marc Anthony Deep Repair Aloe Vera Jasmine conditioning treatmenta single treatment retails for $2.99
Okay so this conditioning treatment is nothing to call home about. I feel very much so that it lays on top of my hair and doesn’t truly nourish it. Could be my hair type, but it is not soaking up this product, leaving me with hair that does not feel conditioned. Which, is kind of the opposite effect I’d like to be left with after using a conditioning treatment. If you’re looking to spend $2.99 for a WORTHY conditioning treatment, check out the Matrix Total Results Multi-tasking Hair Mask for $5.00 (you can get two uses out of this). It is so damn good and will give you the instant results you are looking for: fresh, healthy, undamaged hair.
Would I repurchase? I think it’s pretty obvious lmao – NAH.

  4. Beauty Pin-ups Fearless Hair Rescue treatment16 oz retails for $25.99 or 6 oz retails for $19.99
This one pains me. BECAUSE I AM OBSESSED, and because it’s not all that affordable. I squeezed every last ounce out of this baby – and it was just a sample I received in Ipsy. An incredible one, at that. I freaking loved this stuff. Completely opposite of the Marc Anthony hair treatment, this completely absorbed into my hair and left me with the instant results I was in search of. Honestly tho, if you’re in love with this product and don’t want to spend $26 on a hair treatment, look at the difference in price for an extra 10 oz. of this stuff – completely worth it.
Will I repurchase? That’s a hard question, but truly, I think I might. At the very least, it’s going on a birthday wish list. I’m a firm believer that you gotta invest in what works for you.
  5. Batiste dry shampoo in Blush scent13.46 oz. size (large) retails for $7.99-$9.99 at Marshalls/TJ Maxx depending on when you go
Hands down the best bargain when buying this dry shampoo (even tho it is already considered “drugstore price”) is TJ Maxx or Marshall’s. Idk whether they get certain scents in bulk but I can pretty much count on stocking up anytime I go to the Marshall’s in center city, Philadelphia, and I feel like that’s saying something considering there are a shit ton of people buying them out of house and home. But this product, tho, is the cat’s pajamas. I will continue to buy this over and over again. It does SUCH an incredible job at masking the oils produced in your hair after going a few days without washing it. The blush scent isn’t particularly my favorite, but it fades enough to where I don’t notice it throughout the day. This product gives such a refresh to my hair/look and allows me to wash my hair fewer and further in between, allowing it to be as healthy as possible without the constant stripping of its natural oils when I wash it.
    Will I repurchase? Already have!

Soooo 4/5 repurchases?! That’s a pretty successful empties review if I do say so myself. However, not so successful on the wallet. Gotta get back to earning those Ulta points so I can cash in on some of these as a T R E A T. Anyways, thanks for hanging out and reading up on these hair products! What are your thoughts? Have you tried them as well? Let me know in the comments below.
