“Did I really let this happy again? This is my second 2-in-1 Ipsy review post #lazy”
Here we are again! Another round of double Ipsy bag reviews. I’m sure y’all don’t mind it tho, right? More products to read about 😉
Anyways, I’m not here to bore you … ZzZzZzZz
Here’s August’s bag:
- First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay – retails for $24.00
I am actually loving this cleanser! I am using it every other night after my Philosophy face wash to get a deep clean of my pores and remove any excess oil. It is geared towards those with oily, acne-prone skin to use every day. However, if you have normal skin you can use this every couple days as a “deep cleanse.” I have used this a few times and do notice it tackles under the skin blemishes, and I will continue to include it in my skincare routine!
- theBalm Voyage Vol. 2 Eyeshadow in Willkommen – retails as part of an eyeshadow palette for $39.50
I gotta be honest – I threw this right in the trash. It wasn’t a bad shade, it was a rich medium/dark brown, but it had SPARKLES in it. Do I want to put sparkles onto the outer corner of my eye to smoke out a look? Nada.
- Make Up Forever Excessive Lash Arresting Volume Mascara – retails for $25
This mascara was OK. It wasn’t anything to write home about. If anything, it’s a great bottom-lash mascara because of the skinny wand. When I use it on my upper lashes, it doesn’t give a lot of volume/length. Then to factor in the cost, no I won’t be repurchasing.
- Hikari Shimmer Bronzer in Flush – retails for $17
I only have two things to say about this:
– I threw this out
– It looked cheap and I’m not one for bronzer/blush combos
- Paula Dorf Mini Universal Brow Pencil in Taupe – I can’t even find this on her website so that’s helpful
Also, this product was a no for me. I’m not a huge fan of brow pencils, like actual pencils you write with. It was too pointy and stiff for me to disperse product. I’ll be throwing this out.
Onto September’s bag:
- Luxie Beauty Angled Shading Eye Brush #207 – retails for $12
IPSY CAN SEND ME ALL THE EYE BRUSHES – I’ll never tire of them! And for the price point, Luxie is a steal as far as brushes are concerned. They’re great quality, get the job done, and are marked at a fabulous price point. This brush is great for the blending out crease shades, as it has a flexibility to it that other dense blending brushes don’t have.
- Bio Fresh Mask with Real Calming Herb – retails for $41
I am not sure how to feel about this mask. I mean, shoutout to Ipsy for hooking us up with a decent amount of it (I could probably get 5-7 uses out of this sample). However, I do not really notice any changes/improvements in my skintone/texture after using this mask. In fact, the first morning after I used it I woke up with 3 under the skin blemishes, so.. there’s that.
If I had to go from my experience with it thus far and the price, I certainly wouldn’t repurchase.
- Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance Primer – retails for $39
I gave this shizzz to a friend because YA GIRL IS OILY AF. Also, $40 for a primer? I’ll pass.
- Feel Renewed Pumpkin Walnut Facial Cleanser – retails for $28
This pumpkin walnut facial cleanser is a fall scent in a bottle – but not in a bad way! I enjoy all fall scents and am okay with lathering this onto my face. I won’t say it’s a game-changer, but it’s a nice product. I didn’t notice it particularly solving all the world’s skincare issues, so I probably won’t spend $28 to purchase the full size.
- Elizabeth Mott Pop! Goes The Shadow in Gunmetal – retails for $13
This shade is cool as shit, and I’m super stoked to use this for a dark/vampy smokey eye this fall (if I ever get the balls to dabble in that realm). It swatches like a dream.
And that’s everything! 10 product reviews! PHEW. I’m tired. No wonder why I try not to skip Ipsy bag reviews each month. That is work to review ten products in one sitting. Please let me know if you’ve tried any of these products! Did something work out for you that didn’t for me? Should I give something a second try?
